Kessler > 2 New paintings > Aspen Trees
Forty years ago I began by drawing and painting detailed studies of tree trunks and branches. Now I have discovered a new way to work with this subject.
60" x 20" each, acrylic on panel with resin >
I never get tired of trees, the different bark textures, the way each individual tree is distinct with its own branching pattern, like a giant fingerprint stretching up into the sky. Especially at this time of year, as the trees shed their leaves, you can really appreciate their structure and grace. Beautiful.

Gorgeous! Love this direction and the way you're re-interpreting the subject.
